Loowit High School Staff are committed to the academics, social and emotional needs of our students. Through teamwork, skill building, family involvement, and community support, we strive to rekindle a desire for learning.

Loowit High School is an alternative high school on the back campus of Kelso High School. Students take a combination of classes in Kelso High School and out at Loowit HIgh School. Loowit High School students are required to take at least one class in Kelso High School, usually 5th period. The advantage of Loowit High School is its small class and self-paced online learning. Using Odysseyware as our learning platform, students are expected to make at least 8% progress per week to stay on pace to complete their courses by the end of the trimester.

Currently, Loowit is staffed with one certificated classroom teacher, Mr. Spellmeyer, and is supported by the counseling and special education department in Kelso High School. Students also have full access and support from the Kelso High School counseling center and SRO. The principal of Loowit High School, Jason Coburn, is also an assistant principal at Kelso High School and covers both student populations.
